Last summer, NYMC held its first official Vacation Bible School led by Ruth Cruz. The theme you ask? Veggie tales, “The Pirates Who Don’t Do Anything.” Praise God, we had a great turnout of young children; ages ranging from 3-9. We have many educators in our church; they came in handy when we held our first Vacation Bible School. The topics we discussed were; doing the right thing, trusting in God, Praying, Worship and many more. The format in which these topics were discussed were through creative snacks that the children made themselves, story time, arts and crafts, praise and worship music, video clips from the Veggietales movie, outdoor fun, and Yes….Science Experiments with our Mad Scientist! At the end of our VBS we held a Sunday service where parents came out and got to see what their children had been learning the whole week. And in case you are curious, we do this free of charge, you got that right, free of charge!  Vacation Bible School is a great opportunity for your children to learn about God with other children in their same age group. God’s children are precious. It is our job to teach them in the ways of the Lord. We are currently planning our VBS for this upcoming summer of 2010.
